About
The Vincent Price Art Museum (VPAM) is an esteemed art institution located at East Los Angeles College in Monterey Park, California. The museum’s mission is to serve as a unique educational resource for the diverse audiences of the college and the community at large. VPAM’s collection contains over 9,000 objects, ranging from impressionist paintings to Japanese prints and artifacts from the Ancient Americas. The museum has been a venue for underrepresented artists since its founding, organizing key solo exhibitions for Los Angeles-based artists. VPAM is committed to providing a platform for artists whose work may not have been given the attention it deserves in mainstream art institutions.
The museum’s permanent collection includes works from around the world, such as Pre-Columbian ceramics and textiles from Mexico, Central America, and Peru, as well as modern Mexican masters and contemporary art. In addition to its permanent collection, VPAM hosts temporary exhibitions that showcase a diverse range of artistic expressions and perspectives. The museum is open to the public from Tuesday to Saturday, with extended evening hours on Thursdays. Admission to the Vincent Price Art Museum is free, making it an accessible and enriching cultural resource for the community.
