The Velaslavasay Panorama, located in Los Angeles, California, is a unique exhibition hall, theatre, and garden dedicated to the production and presentation of unusual visual experiences, including those of the 360-degree variety and linear moving panoramas. Drawing on the illustrious history of the great panorama paintings of the 18th and 19th centuries, the Velaslavasay Panorama encircles the spectator within a fully enveloping atmosphere, offering a vast painting of a continuous surrounding landscape accompanied by sound stimulation and three-dimensional elements. The museum’s name combines the last name of its founder, artist Sara Velas, with her mother’s maiden name, Asay. The Velaslavasay Panorama is proud to participate in the cultural and artistic identity of Los Angeles, presenting an art form that has been nearly lost due to technological advancements and the multitudinous variety of ways in which the public consumes mass entertainment.

The Velaslavasay Panorama features the only painted, 360-degree panorama created in the United States since the nineteenth century. The museum’s collection includes a variety of panoramic works and living garden wonders, offering an immersive experience that celebrates the art form’s historical significance. In addition to showcasing panoramic works, the museum hosts events such as illustrated lectures on artistic and scientific subjects, film screenings, toy theatre productions, silent film programs, crafting meetings, and other experimentations.
