About
Kidspace Children’s Museum, located in Pasadena, California, is a vibrant and interactive space designed to encourage children’s growth and development through exploration of the environment, investigation in science, and artistic expression. The museum offers more than 40 hands-on exhibits, in addition to outdoor spaces, programs, and activities, providing boundless ways for children to play and connect every day. The 3.5-acre outdoor campus features the Arroyo Adventure, which includes eight exhibits that encourage children to interact with nature, engage in adventures, and discover possibilities between boulders and rocks, mud and sticks, trees, and native plantings.
The museum was founded in 1979 by members of the Caltech community and Junior League of Pasadena as a space for families to engage with tactile, interdisciplinary experiences that bridge the arts, humanities, and sciences. Since its early beginnings, Kidspace has invited more than 5 million visitors to come play with them. The museum has continued to grow with the opening of Galvin Physics Forest in 2012, the Imagination Workshop and renovation of the S. Mark Taper Foundation Early Childhood Learning Center in 2014, and the addition of the Arroyo Adventure in 2016.
